A few weeks ago in journalism class we listened to a This I
Believe article. The article was about a women who worked at a diner and she
talked about how growing up her parents always told her not to talk to
strangers. But in her essay she
did talk to a stranger. It was an old man who would come to the diner every day
and order the same meal. She would sit down and have conversations with him
like they were family or best friends. She talked about how she stopped seeing
him for while. She got a phone call and they told her that he was in the
hospital and he wanted to see her. And later he had died.
I think that in situations like this it is good to talk to
strangers but then again its not because that person is a stranger. You don’t
know that person. You don’t know their back round or what they are about. So
therefore you cant just speak to random people. Some people could be killers
looking for their next victim. And that could be you. So in some cases talking
to stranger can be good but it could also be bad.
