A few days ago I read an article called “I’m a criminal And So Are You”. The article mainly was about how people who go to jail and serve thee time for the crime they committed and after they get out they don’t have a lot of rights , at least not the same rights as people who haven’t been to jail. The article also stated that everyone has committed a crime but the people who are locked up were the only ones that were caught. The writer says that everyone has committed a crime or broke the law before there for everyone should have equal rights doesn’t matter what you did because you have already served your time .
I agree with the writer. I think that if a person gets out of jail after they have served there time to society they should be allowed to have full citizenship and be apart of the community , they shouldn’t be treated any different. A person has did they’re twenty five years in prison and they have changed there life around they shouldn’t be treated any different than a person who has a committed a crime but just hasn’t been caught. People shouldn’t be discriminated on everyone should be able to participate in everything that is going on. Half the people that were put in jail didn’t even do the crimes. The were falsely accused. And when they get out of jail people look down upon them. In conclusion people shouldn’t be treated differently because a crime they committed almost thirty-five years ago.
